How Can I Know God Still Wants Me When I Keep Failing?

God still wants you because His welcome is based on His mercy, not your streak of success.

The hard truth

You really do fail. Not just once — again and again. The shame you feel is not imaginary, and Scripture does not pretend sin is small.

But failure is not the same thing as being unwanted.

What Jesus shows in Luke 15:17-24

The son comes home rehearsing a speech of guilt: “I have sinned… I am no longer worthy.” He expects distance. Instead, while he is still far off, the father runs to him, embraces him, and restores him before the son can bargain his way back.

That is the picture.

God does not wait for you to become impressive enough to deserve Him. He receives repentant sinners because He is a Father who delights to restore.

What to do when you fail

• Stop pretending.
• Confess plainly.
• Get up and go back.
• Receive mercy as mercy, not as wages.

The Christian life is not “never fail.” It is “keep returning to the Father through Christ.”

What proves He still wants you

Not your mood. Not your performance. Christ.

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” — 1 John 1:9.

Faithful means He does not change when you do. Just means forgiveness is not a loophole; it rests on what Christ has done.

You are not held by your best day. You are held by His grace.
